IN-PERSON PILATES MAT CLASSES

Welcome to the roots of the Pilates system. Pilates Mat classes are designed to give you a full-body workout and move you in all planes of movement. We offer a range of levels from Fundamental Movement skills for those who need to move slowly and deeply to Advanced Pilates Mat for a fun and rigorous flow that is sure to get your blood pumping.

ONLINE – LIVESTREAM PILATES MAT CLASSES

Our virtual studio offers an opportunity to practice from home and access your favorite teachers from the studio as well as some of our very experienced Pilates teachers outside of Marin. Each Mat class will specify if props are needed and if it is a teacher cued or a follow along class. In a teacher cued class, it is best to use a device that can be far enough away to show your entire body. We find that a tripod stand with a light source to hold a phone or tablet device works best. Many are available on Amazon for approximately $20+ and are a game changer. If using a laptop or computer, it’s best for it to be off the floor and be sure there’s a way to adjust the camera to view your entire body.

ONLINE – LIVESTREAM RELEASE, STRENGTHEN, REBALANCE

Decompress and de-stress with this restorative online body rolling and self-massage class designed for all bodies. We’ll work to release and lengthen tissue that gets shortened due to physical and/or mental stress. Next, we’ll reset the body with core-centered exercises to support the strength of the hips and spine and rebalance the nervous system. This class requires a soft Foam Roller and self-massage tools like Franklin Method balls and MELT Method balls. Most of these tools are sold through the studio, or online if you are not in the area.

ONLINE – REJUVENATION YOGA

Take a communal deep breath with us. This online Yoga class is intended to recenter, ground and replenish. You’ll be guided through energizing, flowing movement as well as a restful practice. The class will incorporate alignment-based Yoga, Qigong, meditation and restorative poses.

PILATES REFORMER CLASSES

Reformer classes are surely the heart of the system and tend to get all the attention. Come and experience why. The Reformer offers countless full-body exercises that are typically taught in a layered system of skills. One exercise prepares your body for the next. By the end of class, you will feel more centered in mind and body and may even feel you’ve gained an inch or two in height.

REFORMER/MIXED APPARATUS CLASSES

Enjoy the challenge of this flowing workout on the Reformer, Wunda Chair, Tower, Mat and Spine Correctors. Mixed apparatus means it will be a different workout every time and allows you to try out the various types of Pilates apparatus.

PILATES REFORMER CIRCUIT CLASSES

Challenge yourself to connect the Reformer repertoire and skills to the other Pilates apparatus. This class will work as a circuit so you’ll get to experience the various Pilates equipment work in one class, often circulating to 3 different areas of the studio for 15-20 min each.

PILATES APPARATUS MASTER CLASSES

Experience the finer details and subtleties within the work. This class is appropriate for the committed practitioner who is skilled at taking themselves through the Intermediate and Advanced level repertoire and would like to fine-tune their technique under the tutelage of a 2nd generation teacher.

PILATES TOWER CLASSES

Enjoy the elongation and strength the Tower spring tension provides. This apparatus challenges your ability to maintain control while learning to impulse movement from your center. It provides feedback and support, helping to connect the distal ends of the body into the center through your hips and shoulders. Come and enjoy feeling how the springs allow the spine to decompress.

PILATES WUNDA CHAIR CLASSES

The Wunda Chair was designed by Joseph Pilates to be used for home workouts as well as a sitting chair. Springs attach to a moveable pedal to challenge your balance and stability. One of the best parts of the Wunda Chair is that most of it can be done while sitting or standing which provides a functional proprioceptive challenge. The Chair is great for those who struggle with vertigo or mobility issues and is also a great option for those recovering from hip and knee injury and/or surgery, as well as those with chronic back pain.

PILATES BARRELS/SPINE CORRECTOR CLASSES

The Pilates barrels are offered in three sizes – the Small Barrel, Spine Corrector and the Ladder Barrel. They are ideal for opening the chest, and restoring the natural curves of the spine while providing feedback and support. Joseph Pilates designed the Small Barrel for those with Asthma to assist in breathing exercises they could do at home. Come and enjoy the feeling elongation and support.

PILATES SOCIAL CLUB

A kinetically creative class that encourages getting to know your fellow Pilates enthusiast with social circuits. Keep your mind and body guessing with 3 groups of 4 students and stations that rotate every 20 minutes taught by 3 different teachers. Join us on the First Friday of every month for this powerful class that ends with a pop of champagne! (STAY TUNED FOR THE RETURN OF THIS CLASS FORMAT WHEN WE FEEL IT IS SAFE TO OFFER AGAIN)

COMMUNITY REFORMER/MIXED APPARATUS CLASSES

Take advantage of our discounted Reformer and Mixed Apparatus class while helping our Apprentice teachers become full-fledged Instructors. You will be carefully cued and guided while enjoying a thoughtful full body workout.
